Cardiovascular Research 2022 – Best Scientific Article Award

The 1st place of the 6th Edition of the AIDFM-CETERA Prize was awarded to Jennifer Mancio Silva. The 2nd place to Pedro Lopes and 3rd place to Mariana Branco. The AIDFM-CETERA award organizing team presents its warmest congratulations to the winners!

The Top finalists of the 6th Edition of the AIDFM-CETERA Award for the best scientific article of 2022 in the cardiovascular field are:

Pedro Miguel Dinis Lopes, MD (Hospital de Santa Cruz, Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Ocidental) with the article “Assessing proportionate and disproportionate functional mitral regurgitation with individualized thresholds” published at the European Heart Journal – Cardiovascular Imaging magazine.

Mariana da Mota Veiga de Araújo Branco, PhD (Collaborative Laboratory AccelBio) with the article “Human multilineage pro-epicardium/foregut organoids support the development of an epicardium/myocardium organoid” published at the Nature Communications magazine.

Jennifer Mancio Silva, MD, PhD (King’s College of London and Faculty of Medicine of Porto) with the article “Decoding the radiomic and proteomic phenotype of epicardial adipose tissue associated with adverse left atrial remodelling and post-operative atrial fibrillation in aortic stenosis” published at the European Heart Journal Cardiovascular Imaging magazine.

 

The winner will be announced at the AIDFM-CETERA session of the XIII New Frontiers Congress in Cardiovascular Medicine on 25th February 2023.

 

The 6th Edition of the AIDFM-CETERA Award for the best scientific article of the year in the cardiovascular field is open for application. For the application, only scientific articles published during the year of 2022 in indexed journals will be considered eligible.

The submitted scientific articles will be evaluated according to their originality and clinical relevance, as well as the impact factor of the scientific journal where the article was published, among other factors. Candidates will be evaluated by an independent jury highly qualified in the field.

Relevant deadlines:

  • Applications will run from 20th  November 2022 to 5th January 2023
  • The 3 selected articles will be announced on 16th January 2023
  • The winner will be announced at XIII Congresso de Novas Fronteiras em Medicina Cardiovascular 2023 which will be held from 24th to 26th February 2023.


Award:
The authors for the top 3 articles will get a €3,000.00 prize, which will be distributed as follows:

  • Best article author: €1750.00;
  • 2nd best article author: €750.00;
  • 3rd best article author: €500.00.

These amounts may be used for 1 year after its allocation, for the following purposes:

  • Expenses with registration for scientific meetings (conferences or courses);
  • Purchase of technical/scientific books;
  • Expenses with reagents or another laboratory material.

The top 3 selected articles will also get:

  • Diploma “Best Research Paper Award – 2022”;
  • Registration to the XIII Congresso de Novas Fronteiras em Medicina Cardiovascular 2023 (registration fee and accommodation, if applicable)
  • Invitation to present the selected article in the “Prémio CETERA” session that will be held at the XIII Congresso de Novas Fronteiras em Medicina Cardiovascular 2023.
