Inês Zimbarra Cabrita

Ph.D. | Director

Inês holds a Ph.D in Cardiovascular Sciences at the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College London (2014). She has graduated at the Lisbon School of Health Technology, obtaining a BSc degree in Cardiopneumology (2001), after which she obtained a Masters in Medical Imaging Ultrasound (2006) and later completed a 2-years Master focused on Monitoring, Quality and Statistics at University of Ferrara, Italy (2016). Inês is the Director and Co-founder of CETERA, being responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient coordination and management of all CRO activities and for overseeing the provision of support to researchers during all clinical trials activity. Inês is also an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Lisbon and an Assistant Teacher at Escola Superior de Saúde da Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa.

Francisca Patuleia Figueiras

Ph.D. | Director of Clinical Operations

Francisca has a Ph.D. in Biomedicine at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain. She has graduated at the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia - Universidade Nova the Lisboa where she obtained her Integrate Master’s degree (MEng) in Biomedical Engineering (2007). In 2012/13 Francisca worked as post-doctoral researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry, Clinics Hospital – University of São Paulo, Brazil. In 2016, she completed a 2-years Master focused on Monitoring, Quality and Statistics at the University of Ferrara, Italy.

Catarina Sousa

Ph.D. | Medical Advisor & Pharmacovigilance Manager

Catarina graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon in 2004. In 2006, she started her medical residency in Cardiology at Hospital Pulido Valente. Her training included a rotation in the Intensive Care Unit at Saint Thomas Hospital and in the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. Catarina is an invited assistant at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon. She completed her PhD in 2022 in Cardiovascular Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. She is currently working as a graduate assistant in Cardiology at the Heart and Vessels Department of the CHULN.
