STAND4KIDS – National Hub for Pediatric Clinical Trials

The STAND4Kids – National Hub for Pediatric Clinical Trials is the Portuguese Hub of the conect4children (c4c). This project aims to establish a large collaborative paediatric network that will facilitate the development of new drugs and other therapies for the entire paediatric population in Europe.

Portugal is represented in this project by CETERA and it has the Sociedade Portuguesa de Pediatria (SPP) and the School of Medicina as a Third parties.

In Portugal, the STAND4Kids main goal is to establish a sustainable, lean, fit for purpose, national pediatric trial network to engage stakeholders, families and children. STAND4Kids aims to foster paediatric trial research and to disseminate best practices, standardized processes, procedures, and performance metrics for paediatric clinical trials.

CETERA is participating in the FH-EARLY research project on Familial Hypercholesterolaemia (FH), a high cardiovascular risk condition, and it is the CRO responsible for implementing and managing two clinical studies at an Iberian level that will be implemented during the course of this project.

The FH-EARLY project, dedicated to developing new strategies for the early diagnosis, risk stratification and co-management of familial hypercholesterolaemia, was selected to receive funding of around 7 million euros.

The project is led by the Association for Research and Development of the Faculty of Medicine of Lisbon (AIDFM), with the coordination of Professor Fausto Pinto, president of CCUL – Cardiovascular Centre of the University of Lisbon. Funded by the Horizon Europe programme, the FH-EARLY project involves a consortium of 15 internationally renowned institutions and will last 48 months.
